Mr. Mouzis is the founder and managing partner of The Mouzis Law Firm. Mr. Mouzis is an experienced and accomplished litigator with more than 30 years of experience in the courtroom. During this time, Mr. Mouzis has tried numerous civil cases, including complex construction contract disputes, construction defect actions, and product liability and personal injury cases. He has tried cases in both state and federal courts throughout California, as well as several binding arbitration proceedings before construction and commercial arbitrators.

Mr. Mouzis established The Mouzis Law Firm in March, 2009, upon his resignation as an equity partner from the Los Angeles based law firm of Monteleone & McCrory, LLP, where he worked for approximately 10 years out of the firm’s satellite office in Orange County. While at the firm, Mr. Mouzis represented engineering contractors, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers and owners in complex construction contract disputes, construction defect actions, bid protests, claims and resulting litigation involving public entities, performance and payment bond litigation, and mechanic’s lien enforcement actions.

Mr. Mouzis joined Monteleone & McCrory, LLP after approximately 20 years of law practice in California. Mr. Mouzis spent his first five years in private practice representing insured and self-insured clients in the defense of their product liability and general liability cases before accepting a position with Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. in Torrance, California, where he monitored the company’s product liability litigation and negotiated settlements on a national basis. Mr. Mouzis returned to private practice in 1988, at which time he continued to represent clients involved in civil disputes, including breach of contract, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, general negligence, product liability, personal injury and construction defect cases.

Mr. Mouzis received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California’s School of Journalism in 1975, where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi academic honorary society. He earned his Master of Arts degree from the University of Southern California’s School of Journalism in 1976, during which time he also served as a Teaching Assistant.

Mr. Mouzis received his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California in 1979, and was admitted to the California Bar shortly thereafter. Mr. Mouzis is also licensed to practice law in the State of Arizona, and is a member of the Arizona Bar’s Construction Law Committee.

Mr. Mouzis has been a resident of Orange County for approximately 30 years. He currently lives with his family in North Tustin, California. He enjoys all outdoor sports, including running, hiking, skiing and golf.
